I am a professional drummer and teacher who has been playing the drums for over 40 years - and I still love it!

I have taught the drums for over 30 years, both privately and at some of the top schools in the United Kingdom. I currently teach players of all ages and abilities from my studio in Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire.

As a musician I have had the honour and pleasure of touring and recording with many artists including: Del Shannon, Percy Sledge, The Chi-Lites, Archie Bell and the Drells, Craig Mc Lachlan, Peter Cox (Go West), Mark Shaw (Then Jericho), Steve Norman and Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Gabrielle, Gary Barlow, Mark Lizotte (Diesel) and Jimmy Barnes.

I have played on sessions, television and radio shows, Gold albums and to audiences of up to 120,000 people.

I was a member of faculty, as well as writing course material on the BMus, for 10 years at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. I wrote a tuition column for Drummer magazine for two and a half years and I have also performed drum clinics and seminars all over the world, including at the London Drum Show.

Every day when I walk into my studio, I look at my drum kit and can’t help but smile! I love the look of the kit and the sound of it. I am very proud to be sponsored by Mapex Drums, Paiste cymbals and Vic Firth drum sticks.

I started teaching over 30 years ago and have studied with and been inspired by some amazing teachers. It was while studying with these teachers that I realised that not only is teaching extremely fulfilling but that it is in itself a lifelong learning experience.
